A SMALL SHOP WITH A BIG COMMUNITY

We are a small family run shop and we are passionate about all things local. Just over 90% of our sales are sourced from producers within a few miles of the shop, ranging from our smallest grower of the most delicious runner beans, Allotment Dave, to much larger local businesses squishing apples into a whole range of apple juices. If we can’t source locally then we find small businesses a little further afield.

Sitting in the middle of our own watercress beds, just outside Alresford, we stock a variety of produce from veg and flowers, to freshly baked bread, candles and chocolates to trout filleted by Rachel and so much more! We love our shop and we hope you will too.

a bit about us

Living a mile from the shop, I have always loved West Lea and its beautiful watercress beds. I also love all things local. I took on West Lea Farm Shop during the pandemic with a desire to revive it as an essential place for locals to pick up quality produce in a warm and friendly environment. I also wanted to concentrate on supporting local producers wherever possible. So please pop in and say hello; we look forward to welcoming you.

Rachel Peppiatt, Owner

our watercress

Our farm shop is surrounded by mature watercress beds grown in gravel beds supplied by fresh running chalk stream water. Learn more about it and meet Merv, the man who has been growing and cultivating it for over 35 years.
